स्त्रियः सतीस्ताँ उ मे पुंस आहुः पश्यदक्षण्वान्न वि चेतदन्धः । कविर्यः पुत्रः स ईमा चिकेत यस्ता विजानात्स पितुष्पितासत् ॥
stríyaḥ satī́s tā́m̐ u me púṁsa āāhuḥ páśyad akṣaṇvā́n ná ví cetad andháḥ | kavír yáḥ putráḥ sá īmā́ ciketa yás tā́ vijānā́t sá pitúṣ pitā́ asat ||
അവർ സത്യത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീശക്തികളായിരിക്കെ, പുരുഷന്മാർ അവരെ പുംസ് (പുരുഷ) എന്നു വിളിക്കുന്നു; കാണുന്നവനും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല—അന്ധത സത്യത്തെ പിടിക്കുകയില്ല. എന്നാൽ കവി, ആ പുത്രൻ, ഇവയെല്ലാം ഗ്രഹിച്ചു; അവരെ അറിയുന്നവൻ പിതാവിന്റെ പിതാവായിത്തീരുന്നു.
