Sukta 1.161
आपो भूयिष्ठा इत्येको अब्रवीदग्निर्भूयिष्ठ इत्यन्यो अब्रवीत् । वधर्यन्तीं बहुभ्यः प्रैको अब्रवीदृता वदन्तश्चमसाँ अपिंशत ॥
ā́po bhū́yiṣṭhā íty éko abravīd agnír bhū́yiṣṭha íty anyó abravīt | vádharyántīṃ bahúbhyaḥ prá éko abravīd ṛtā́ vádantaś camasā́n apiṃśata ||
ഒരാൾ പറഞ്ഞു: “ആപഃ (ജലങ്ങൾ) സമൃദ്ധമാകട്ടെ”; മറ്റൊരാൾ പറഞ്ഞു: “അഗ്നി സമൃദ്ധമാകട്ടെ.” ഒരാൾ അനേകര്ക്കായി മുന്നേറുന്ന ശക്തിയെ പ്രഖ്യാപിച്ചു. ഋതത്തിന്റെ സത്യങ്ങൾ ഉച്ചരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ചമസങ്ങൾ (പാത്രങ്ങൾ) രൂപപ്പെടുത്തി—ആനന്ദം ധരിക്കാൻ യോജ്യമായ രൂപങ്ങൾ.
