उषा उच्छन्ती समिधाने अग्ना उद्यन्त्सूर्य उर्विया ज्योतिरश्रेत् । देवो नो अत्र सविता न्वर्थं प्रासावीद्द्विपत्प्र चतुष्पदित्यै ॥
uṣā́ ucchántī samidhāné agnā́ udyánt sū́rya urviyā́ jyótir aśret | devó no átra savitā́ nvàrthaṁ prā́sāvīd dvipát prá cátuṣpad ítyai ||
ഉഷസ് ഉദിക്കുന്നു, സമിധപോലെ അഗ്നിയെ ജ്വലിപ്പിച്ച്; ഉയരുന്ന സൂര്യൻ ഉർവിയാ—വിശാലമായ—ജ്യോതി പകർന്നു വിടുന്നു. ഇവിടെ ദേവനായ സവിതൃ ഇപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾക്കായി സത്യാർത്ഥത്തെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു—ഞങ്ങളിലെ ദ്വിപത്യും ചതുഷ്പത്യും ഋത-സിദ്ധിയിലേക്കു മുന്നേറുവാൻ.
