स्वमनीकंविषण्णंतुश्रुत्वाशत्रुभिरर्दितम् ।उदतिष्ठतदुर्दर्षः स कर्मण्यननुष्ठिते ।।।।
svamanīkaṃ viṣaṇṇaṃ tu śrutvā śatrubhir arditam |
udatiṣṭhata durdarṣaḥ sa karmaṇy ananuṣṭhite ||
ശത്രുക്കളാൽ പീഡിതമായി വിഷണ്ണമായ തന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ വാർത്ത കേട്ടപ്പോൾ, ദുർജ്ജയനായ ആ വീരൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു—താൻ ആരംഭിച്ച കർമാനുഷ്ഠാനം ഇനിയും പൂർത്തിയാകാതിരുന്നിട്ടും।
