इन्द्रजित्-हनूमद्-युद्धं तथा निकुम्भिलायां होमः

निकुम्भिलामधिष्ठायपावकंजुहवेन्द्रजित् ।।।।यज्ञभूम्यांततोगत्वापावकस्तेनरक्षसा ।हूयमानःप्रजज्वालमांसशोणितभुक्तदा ।।।।

nikumbhilām adhiṣṭhāya pāvakaṃ juhave indrajit | yajñabhūmyāṃ tato gatvā pāvakas tena rakṣasā | hūyamānaḥ prajajvāla māṃsaśoṇitabhuk tadā ||

നികുംഭിലയിൽ എത്തി ഇന്ദ്രജിത് അഗ്നിയിൽ ആഹുതികൾ അർപ്പിച്ചു. യജ്ഞഭൂമിയിൽ ചെന്നപ്പോൾ, ആ രാക്ഷസൻ മാംസവും രക്തവുംകൊണ്ട് പോഷിപ്പിച്ച അഗ്നി ആഹുതികൾ വീഴുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ ജ്വലിച്ചു കത്തിപ്പൊങ്ങി.
