द्रुमांश्चविपुलस्कन्थान् गृह्यवानरपुङ्गवाः ।तद्युद्धमभवद्घोरंरक्षोवानरसङ्कुलम् ।।।।
drumāṃś ca vipula-skandhān gṛhya vānara-puṅgavāḥ |
tad yuddham abhavad ghoraṃ rakṣo-vānara-saṅkulam ||
വലിയ തണ്ടുകളുള്ള വൃക്ഷങ്ങൾ പിടിച്ചെടുത്ത് വാനരശ്രേഷ്ഠർ പോരാടി; അപ്പോൾ ആ യുദ്ധം അത്യന്തം ഭീകരമായി—രാക്ഷസരും വാനരരും നിറഞ്ഞുകവിഞ്ഞതായി.
