rāja-śeṣākṛtā laṅkā kṣīṇaḥ kośo balaṃ hatam |

rājānam imam āsādya suhṛc-cihnam amitrakam ||

Translation

ലങ്ക ഇപ്പോൾ രാജ്യമെന്നതിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടം മാത്രമായി; ഖജനാവ് ക്ഷയിച്ചു, സൈന്യം നശിച്ചു—സുഹൃത്തിന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങൾ ധരിച്ച ശത്രുക്കൾ ഈ രാജാവിനെ ചുറ്റി വശീകരിച്ചതിനാൽ.
