Kumbhakarna’s Departure for Battle
तस्मात्परमदुर्धर्षै: सैन्यैःपरिवृतोव्रज ।।।।रक्षसामहितंसर्वंशत्रुपक्षंनिषूदय ।
tasmāt paramadurdharṣaiḥ sainyaiḥ parivṛto vraja | rakṣasām ahitaṃ sarvaṃ śatrupakṣaṃ niṣūdaya ||
"Therefore, go surrounded by the army. They are extremely difficult to encounter. They are like thunderbolts. Destroy them who are on the enemy side and not favourable to Rakshasas."
The verse reflects the duty of leadership to deploy forces responsibly and not endanger a warrior through isolation; it underscores prudence and organized action as part of one’s role in conflict.
Rāvaṇa instructs Kumbhakarṇa to advance with strong military support and to attack the opposing side threatening Laṅkā.
Strategic discipline and leadership—moving with coordinated support rather than acting alone.
