Rāvaṇa’s Assault on Nīla and Lakṣmaṇa; Hanumān Bears Rāma
रावणोहिमहावीर्योरणेऽद्भुतपराक्रमः ।त्रैलोक्येनापिसङ्क्रुद्धोदुष्प्रसह्योनसंशयः ।।6.59.49।।
rāvaṇo hi mahāvīryo raṇe 'dbhuta-parākramaḥ |
trailokyenāpi saṅkruddho duṣprasahyo na saṃśayaḥ ||6.59.49||
രാവണൻ മഹാവീരനാകുന്നു; യുദ്ധത്തിൽ അത്ഭുതപരാക്രമശാലി. ക്രോധിതനായാൽ ത്രിലോകവും അവനെ തടയാൻ ദുഷ്പ്രാപ്യം—ഇതിൽ സംശയമില്ല॥
"Ravana is a great hero in the battlefield. His valour in war is wonderful. He is angry but none can withstand him in the three worlds."
Truthfulness in counsel (satya) is part of dharma: Rāma gives an honest assessment of the enemy’s strength so that action is guided by realism, not bravado.
Rāma warns Lakṣmaṇa about Rāvaṇa’s extraordinary power and the danger of facing him when enraged.
