तच्छैलशृङ्गंबहुवृक्षसानुंप्रगृह्यचिक्षेपनिशाचराय ।तमापतन्तंसहसासमीक्ष्यचिच्छेदबाणैस्तपनीयपुङ्खैः ।।6.59.37।।
tac chailaśṛṅgaṃ bahuvṛkṣasānuṃ pragṛhya cikṣepa niśācarāya | tam āpatantaṃ sahasā samīkṣya ciccheda bāṇais tapanīyapuṅkhaiḥ ||6.59.37||
വൃക്ഷസമൃദ്ധമായ ചരിവുകളുള്ള ആ പർവ്വതശൃംഗം പിടിച്ച് സുഗ്രീവൻ നിശാചരനിലേക്കു എറിഞ്ഞു; അത് പാഞ്ഞുവരുന്നതു കണ്ട രാവണൻ സ്വർണ്ണദണ്ഡമുള്ള അമ്പുകളാൽ ക്ഷണത്തിൽ അതിനെ വെട്ടിത്തകർത്തു।
