With fourteen pointed powerful arrows, Akampana tormented and split the body of Hanuman.
The verse frames battlefield duty (yuddha-dharma): warriors meet force with force, yet the narrative invites reflection on right use of power—strength is tested, not by cruelty, but by steadfastness under harm.
During the Lanka war, the rakshasa leader Akampana strikes Hanuman with a concentrated volley of fourteen arrows.
Hanuman’s endurance and resolve are foregrounded by the severity of the attack.
