लङ्काद्वारव्यूहवर्णनम् / Disposition at the Gates of Lanka
वानराएवनश्चिह्नंस्वजनेऽस्मिन् भविष्यति ।।।।वयंतुमानुषेणैवसप्तयोत्प्यामहेपरान् ।अहमेषममभ्रात्रालक्ष्मणेनमहौजसौ ।।।।आत्मनापञ्चमश्चायंसखाममविभीषणः ।
vānarā eva naḥ cihnaṃ svajane ’smin bhaviṣyati | vayaṃ tu mānuṣeṇaiva sapta yotsyāmahe parān |
aham eṣa mama bhrātrā lakṣmaṇena mahaujasā | ātmanā pañcamaś cāyaṃ sakhā mama vibhīṣaṇaḥ || 6.37.34-35 ||
നമ്മുടെ പക്ഷത്തിൽ വാനരരൂപം തന്നെയാകും തിരിച്ചറിയാനുള്ള ചിഹ്നം. എന്നാൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഏഴുപേർ മാത്രം മനുഷ്യരൂപത്തിൽ ശത്രുക്കളോട് യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യും—ഞാനും മഹൗജസ്സനായ എന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ലക്ഷ്മണനും, എന്റെ അരികിൽ അഞ്ചാമനായി എന്റെ സഖാവ് വിഭീഷണനും.
