अवधीर्यजरावृद्दंगृध्रराजंजटायुषम् ।किंनुतेरामसान्निध्येसकाशेलक्ष्मणस्यवा ।।।।हृतासीताविशालाक्षीयांत्वंगृह्यनबुध्यसे ।
avadhīrya jarā-vṛddhaṃ gṛdhra-rājaṃ jaṭāyuṣam |
kiṃ nu te rāma-sānnidhye sakāśe lakṣmaṇasya vā ||
hṛtā sītā viśālākṣī yāṃ tvaṃ gṛhya na budhyase ||
ജരാവൃദ്ധനായ ഗൃധ്രരാജൻ ജടായുവിനെ അവഗണിച്ച് നീ വിശാലാക്ഷിയായ സീതയെ അപഹരിച്ചു; എങ്കിലും നീ ബോധിക്കുന്നില്ല—രാമന്റെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിലോ, ലക്ഷ്മണന്റെ മുന്നിലോ, അവളെ പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകാൻ നീ എങ്ങനെ ധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടു?
