शरणागति

धर्मनिर्णयः (Decision on Refuge and Dharma) / Rama’s Vow of Protection and the Acceptance of Vibhishana

विनष्टःपश्यतस्तस्यारक्षिणश्शरणागतः ।आदायसुकृतंतस्यसर्वंगच्छेदरक्षित:।। ।।

vinaṣṭaḥ paśyatas tasyārakṣiṇaḥ śaraṇāgataḥ | ādāya sukṛtaṃ tasya sarvaṃ gacched arakṣitaḥ || 6.18.29 ||

തന്റെ കണ്ണുമുന്നിൽ തന്നേ ശരണാഗതൻ സംരക്ഷണമില്ലാതെ നശിച്ചാൽ, സംരക്ഷിക്കാതിരുന്ന രക്ഷകൻ അപകീർത്തിയോടെ നശിക്കും; ആ സംരക്ഷണമില്ലാത്ത ശരണാഗതൻ അവന്റെ സകല പുണ്യവും എടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് പോകും.
