"There is no use of enmity after death. You may carry out his last rites. That way I am also your relation."।। itayāraṣēvālamīkīyēśarīmadarāmāyaṇēādikāvayēyudadhakāṇaḍēdavādaśōtataraśatatamasasaragaḥ।।This is the end of one hundred and twelfth sarga of Yuddha Kanda of the first epic the holy Ramayana composed by sage Valmiki.
Dharma transcends hostility: after death, rancor is relinquished and the dead receive due rites as a moral obligation.
Rāma grants permission and urges the performance of the deceased’s last rites, declaring enmity finished.
Magnanimity and dharmic restraint—victory does not become vengeance; it culminates in humane duty.
