Aditya Hridayam Upadeśa — Agastya’s Instruction to Rāma
हिरण्यगर्भश्शिशिरस्तपनोभास्करोरविः ।अग्निगर्भोऽदितेःपुत्रःशङ्घश्शिशिरनाशनः ।।6.107.12।।
hiraṇyagarbhaḥ śiśiras tapano bhāskaro raviḥ |
agnigarbho ’diteḥ putraḥ śaṅkhaḥ śiśiranāśanaḥ || 6.107.12 ||
നീ ഹിരണ്യഗർഭൻ; ശിശിരവും തപനവും ഒരുപോലെ; തപനൻ, ഭാസ്കരൻ, രവി. അഗ്നിഗർഭൻ, അദിതിയുടെ പുത്രൻ—ആനന്ദസ്വരൂപൻ; ശിശിരനാശകനും നീ തന്നേ.
"You have the golden cosmic egg in the womb, you are cool, you are the purifier, the ruler of all, bringer of day, who Bears the fire of dissolution in the womb. You are the son of Aditi, blissful personified and destroyer of cold.
It teaches balance: the same divine power manifests as cooling and heating—suggesting dharma requires discernment, not excess, in applying strength.
Agastya continues enumerating Sūrya’s cosmic titles and functions as part of the empowering hymn.
Discernment (viveka): recognizing the one sustaining reality through seemingly opposite qualities.
