चन्द्रप्रकाशे लङ्कानिरीक्षणम्

उष्णार्दितां सानुसृतास्रकण्ठीम् पुरा वरार्होत्तमनिष्ककण्ठीम्।सुजातपक्ष्मामभिरक्तकण्ठीं वनेऽप्रवृत्तामिव नीलकण्ठीम्।।5.5.25।।

uṣṇārditāṃ sānusṛtāsra-kaṇṭhīṃ purā varārhottama-niṣka-kaṇṭhīm | sujāta-pakṣmām abhirakta-kaṇṭhīṃ vane ’pravṛttām iva nīlakaṇṭhīm ||5.5.25||

അവൻ മനസ്സിൽ സീതാദേവിയെ ഇങ്ങനെ ധ്യാനിച്ചു—ദുഃഖത്തിന്റെ ചൂടിൽ ദഹിച്ചവളായി, തുടർച്ചയായ കണ്ണീരാൽ കണ്ഠം മുട്ടിപ്പിടഞ്ഞവളായി; ഒരുകാലത്ത് ഉത്തമവും വിലയേറിയതുമായ കണ്ഠാഭരണങ്ങൾ ധരിച്ചവൾ; മനോഹര കൺപീലികളുള്ളവൾ, മധുരസ്നിഗ്ധവാണിയുള്ളവൾ—വനത്തിൽ അലഞ്ഞുനടക്കുന്ന മയൂരിയെന്നപോലെ.
