Sita’s Lament and Resolve under Threat

इतीव देवी बहुधा विलप्य सर्वात्मना राममनुस्मरन्ती।प्रवेपमाना परिशुष्कवक्त्रा नगोत्तमं पुष्पितमाससाद।।5.28.17।।

itīva devī bahudhā vilapya sarvātmanā rāmam anusmarantī |

pravepamānā pariśuṣka-vaktrā nagottamaṃ puṣpitam āsasāda ||5.28.17||

ഇങ്ങനെ ദേവി സീത പലവിധം വിലപിച്ചു, സർവ്വാന്തഃകരണത്തോടെ ശ്രീരാമനെ അനുസ്മരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. വിറച്ചുകൊണ്ട്, മുഖം ഉണങ്ങി വാടിയപ്പോൾ, പുഷ്പിതമായ ശ്രേഷ്ഠ വൃക്ഷത്തോടു സമീപിച്ചു.
