Hanuman, endowed with great equanimity, facing the east and joining his palms by way of salutaion to the Wind-god, his father, he enlarged his size and turned south in order to depart.
Dharma begins with reverence and right intention: before action, Hanumān honors his source (Vāyu) and proceeds with composed purpose toward a righteous mission.
At the outset of the leap, Hanumān salutes the Wind-god, then increases his form and turns south to begin the ocean-crossing.
Vinaya (humility/reverence) combined with saṃyama (self-control) before great exertion.
