Commencement of the Ocean-Crossing
त्वन्निमित्तमनेनाहं बहुमानात्प्रचोदितः।तिष्ठ त्वं कपिशार्दूल मयि विश्रम्य गम्यताम्।।5.1.115।।तव सानुषु विश्रान्तः शेषं प्रक्रमतामिति।योजनानां शतं चापि कपिरेष समाप्लुतः।।5.1.116।।
tvannimittam anenāhaṁ bahumānāt pracoditaḥ | tiṣṭha tvaṁ kapiśārdūla mayi viśramya gamyatām || 5.1.115 || tava sānuṣu viśrāntaḥ śeṣaṁ prakramatām iti | yojanānāṁ śataṁ cāpi kapir eṣa samāplutaḥ || 5.1.116 ||
നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം മഹാസമുദ്രം ആദരത്തോടെ എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു: ഹേ കപിശാർദൂല, എന്റെ മേൽ വിശ്രമിച്ച് പിന്നെ മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുക. ‘അവൻ നിന്റെ ചരിവുകളിൽ വിശ്രമിച്ച് ശേഷമുള്ള ദൂരം കടക്കട്ടെ; ഈ കപി നൂറു യോജനയും ചാടിക്കടക്കും’ എന്നു (സമുദ്രം) പ്രസ്താവിച്ചു.
"I was prompted by the ocean for your sake since he has great regard for you. O great monkey you may rest here for a while and continue your journey. The lord of the ocean feels that this tiger among monkeys can cover the distance of a hundred yojanas. He tells me, 'let him rest on your peak and then cover the rest of the distance'.
