काकुत्स्थस्य शोकनिग्रहः—सुग्रीवसान्त्वनम्
Rama’s Grief Restrained—Sugriva’s Consolation
अनृतं नोक्तपूर्वं मे न च वक्ष्ये कदाचन।एतत्ते प्रतिजानामि सत्येनैव च ते शपाम्यहमं।।।।
anṛtaṃ na uktapūrvaṃ me na ca vakṣye kadācana | etat te pratijānāmi satyenaiva ca te śapāmi aham ||
ഞാൻ മുമ്പൊരിക്കലും അസത്യം പറഞ്ഞിട്ടില്ല; ഇനി ഒരിക്കലും പറയുകയുമില്ല. ഇതു ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പ്രതിജ്ഞ ചെയ്യുന്നു; സത്യത്തെ സാക്ഷിയാക്കി ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു ശപഥം ചെയ്യുന്നു.
