sā samprahṛṣṭa-dvipa-vāji-yodhā vitrāsayantī mṛga-pakṣi-saṅghān | mahad vanaṃ tat pratigāhamānā rarāja senā bharatasya tatra || 2.92.39 ||
അവിടെ ഭരതന്റെ സൈന്യം—ഹർഷോന്മുഖമായ ഗജങ്ങളും അശ്വങ്ങളും വീരയോദ്ധാക്കളും നിറഞ്ഞത്—മഹാവനത്തിലേക്ക് കടന്നു; മൃഗപക്ഷിസമൂഹങ്ങളെ ഭീതിപ്പെടുത്തി, തന്റെ ഘനസമൂഹശോഭയാൽ ദീപ്തിയായി തിളങ്ങി.
