चित्रकूटगमनम् तथा पर्णशालाप्रवेशः
Arrival at Chitrakuta and Establishing the Leaf-Hut
स लक्ष्मणः कृष्णमृगं मेध्यं हत्वा प्रतापवान्।अथ चिक्षेप सौमित्रिस्समिद्धे जातवेदसि।।।।
sa lakṣmaṇaḥ kṛṣṇamṛgaṃ medhyaṃ hatvā pratāpavān | atha cikṣepa saumitriḥ samiddhe jātavedasi ||
അപ്പോൾ പ്രതാപവാനായ സൗമിത്രിയായ ലക്ഷ്മണൻ യജ്ഞയോഗ്യവും ശുദ്ധവുമായ കൃഷ്ണമൃഗത്തെ വധിച്ച്, നന്നായി ജ്വലിച്ച ജാതവേദസിയായ അഗ്നിയിൽ അതിനെ ആഹുതിയായി അർപ്പിച്ചു.
