Kausalya–Rama Dialogue on Exile-Dharma
भवत्या मम चैवाद्य राजा प्रभवति प्रभुः।न ह्यनाथा वयं राज्ञा लोकनाथेन धीमता।।2.24.21।।
bhavatyā mama caivādya rājā prabhavati prabhuḥ | na hy anāthā vayaṃ rājñā loka-nāthena dhīmatā || 2.24.21 ||
ഇന്ന് രാജാവായ പ്രഭു നിങ്ങളെയും എന്നെയും ആജ്ഞാപിക്കാൻ അധികാരമുള്ളവൻ തന്നെയാണ്. ജനങ്ങളുടെ നാഥനായ ആ ബുദ്ധിമാൻ രാജാവ് നമ്മെ മേൽനോട്ടം വഹിക്കുന്നിടത്തോളം നാം അനാഥരല്ല.
The powerful king has authority over you as well as over me. As long as he is the sagacious lord of the entire world, how can we be without a master?
It affirms rājadharma and household order: legitimate authority (the king/father) binds family members, and duty is performed within that structure rather than by impulsive flight.
