न कथञ्चिदृते रामाद्भरतो राज्यमावसेत्।।।।रामादपि हि तं मन्ये धर्मतो बलवत्तरम्।

na kathañcid ṛte rāmād bharato rājyam āvaset |

rāmād api hi taṃ manye dharmato balavattaram ||

രാമനെ മാറ്റിവെച്ച് രാജ്യം സ്വീകരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നാൽ ഭരതൻ ഒരിക്കലും, യാതൊരു വിധത്തിലും, രാജ്യം ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയില്ല; ധർമ്മത്തിൽ അവൻ രാമനേക്കാളും ശക്തനെന്ന് ഞാൻ കരുതുന്നു.
