दीनया तु गिरा राजा इति होवाच कैकयीम्।अनर्थमिममर्थाभं केन त्वमुपदर्शिता।।।।भूतोपहतचित्तेव ब्रुवन्ती मां न लज्जसे।

dīnayā tu girā rājā iti hovāca kaikayīm |

anartham imam arthābhaṃ kena tvam upadarśitā ||

bhūtopahatacitteva bruvantī māṃ na lajjase ||

അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് ദീനമായ വാക്കുകളോടെ കൈകേയിയോട് പറഞ്ഞു: “ലാഭമെന്നു തോന്നുന്ന ഈ അനർത്ഥമായ ദുരന്തം നിനക്കു ആരാണ് ഉപദേശിച്ചത്? ഭൂതബാധിതചിത്തയെന്നപോലെ എന്നോടു സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിനക്കു ലജ്ജയില്ലേ?”
