The Consecration of Rama’s Sandals and Bharata’s Trusteeship at Nandigrama
एतच्छ्रुत्वा शुभं वाक्यं भरतस्य महात्मनः।अब्रुवन्मन्त्रिणस्सर्वे वसिष्ठश्च पुरोहितः।।।।
etac chrutvā śubhaṃ vākyaṃ bharatasya mahātmanaḥ | abruvan mantriṇaḥ sarve vasiṣṭhaś ca purohitaḥ ||
മഹാത്മാവായ ഭരതന്റെ ഈ ശുഭവചനം കേട്ടപ്പോൾ, എല്ലാ മന്ത്രിമാരും രാജപുരോഹിതനായ വസിഷ്ഠനും മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു॥
Bharata who was attached to his brother and ever obedient to him, fulfilled his vow. He coronated the sandals and lived at Nandigrama longing for the return of Rama.

Bharata has declared his intention to wait for Rama; the ministers and Vasiṣṭha prepare to answer him in the royal assembly.
