पितृमरणश्रवणं जलक्रिया च
Hearing of Daśaratha’s death and the libation rites at Mandākinī
आनयेङ्गुदिपिण्याकं चीरमाहर चोत्तरम्।जलक्रियार्थं तातस्य गमिष्यामि महात्मनः।।।।
ānaya iṅgudi-piṇyākaṃ cīram āhara cottaram |
jalakriyārthaṃ tātasya gamiṣyāmi mahātmanaḥ ||
ഇങ്ങുദീഫലത്തിന്റെ ഉണക്ക പിണ്യാകം കൊണ്ടുവരിക; ചീരത്തിന്റെ ഒരു മേൽവസ്ത്രവും കൊണ്ടുവരിക. മഹാത്മനായ പിതാവിന്റെ ജലക്രിയ—തർപ്പണാദി—നിർവഹിക്കാൻ ഞാൻ പോകുന്നു.
I shall go and offer libations to my magnanimous father. Go and fetch the dried pulp of ingudi fruit and an upper garment made of bark.
