Vision of Lake Pampā and the Turn toward Sugrīva
सप्तानां च समुद्राणामेषु तीर्थेषु लक्ष्मण।उपस्पृष्टं च विधिवत्पितरश्चापि तर्पिताः।।3.75.4।।
saptānāṃ ca samudrāṇām eṣu tīrtheṣu lakṣmaṇa | upaspṛṣṭaṃ ca vidhivat pitaraś cāpi tarpitāḥ || 3.75.4 ||
ഹേ ലക്ഷ്മണാ, ഈ തീർത്ഥങ്ങളിൽ സ്നാനം ചെയ്ത്—ഏഴു സമുദ്രങ്ങളുടെ പുണ്യഘട്ടങ്ങളിലേതുപോലെ—ഞങ്ങൾ വിധിപൂർവ്വം ഉപസ്പർശം ചെയ്തു; പിതൃക്കളെയും ആചാരപ്രകാരം തർപ്പണത്തോടെ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുത്തി.
Having said these words to Lakshmana who was listening to him with undivided attention, Rama, the best of the Raghus, oppressed by love and afflicted by tears of grief entered Pampa, the delightful lotus-lake.
It emphasizes ritual and familial Dharma: honoring ancestors (pitṛs) through prescribed rites, reflecting gratitude and continuity of duty (pitṛ-ṛṇa).
Rama notes that they have completed a proper ceremonial bath and ancestral offerings at sacred waters during their forest journey.
