शूर्पणखा-संवादः | Khara and Surpanakha: Lament, Reproach, and the Janasthana Crisis
इत्येवमुक्ता दुर्धर्षा खरेण परिसान्त्विता।विमृज्य नयने सास्रे खरं भ्रातरमब्रवीत्।।।।
ity evam uktā durdharṣā khareṇa parisāntvitā | vimṛjya nayane sāśre kharaṃ bhrātaram abravīt ||
ഖരൻ ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞ് ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചതിനാൽ, അജയ്യയായ ശൂർപ്പണഖ കണ്ണുനീർ നിറഞ്ഞ കണ്ണുകൾ തുടച്ച്, തന്റെ സഹോദരൻ ഖരനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
Thus consoled by Khara, invincible Surpanakha wiped her tearful eyes and said to her brother:
Dharma is suggested as self-control after distress: even after humiliation, one regains composure to speak clearly and seek redress.
Śūrpaṇakhā calms down after Khara’s consoling words and begins to report what happened.
Composure and readiness to communicate—she shifts from raw grief to articulate speech.
