अपि मातरि लोकेऽस्मिन्नुपकाराद्धि गौरवम् । मातुलांश्च पितृव्यांश्च श्वशुरानृत्विजो गुरून्

ഈ ലോകത്തിലും ഉപകാരത്തിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഗൗരവം ജനിക്കുന്നത്; അതിനാൽ മാതുലന്മാർ, പിതൃവ്യന്മാർ, ശ്വശുരൻ, ഋത്വിജർ (യാജകർ), ഗുരുക്കന്മാർ എന്നിവരെ ആദരിക്കണം.
