हरिश्च भगवानास्ते प्रजापतिपुरस्कृतः । गंगायमुनयोर्मध्ये पृथिव्या जघनं स्मृतम्

It sacralizes the land between the Gaṅgā and Yamunā (the doab) by mapping it onto the Earth’s body, calling it the ‘jaghana’ (hips/loins), a common Purāṇic way of expressing holiness through cosmic anatomy.
By stating that Hari ‘abides’ there and is honored by the Prajāpatis, the verse frames the region as a place where devotion to Viṣṇu is especially fitting, since even cosmic progenitors revere him.
