FAQs

The verse praises go-sevā (serving and caring for cows) and go-dāna in the form of offering gogrāsa—providing fodder to cows—as highly meritorious acts leading to residence in Svarga.

“Gogrāsa” literally means a ‘mouthful for the cow’—a portion of fodder/food offered specifically for the cow’s nourishment, symbolizing charitable giving and compassionate care.

It teaches compassion, service, and generosity toward dependent beings—especially cows—presenting such daily, practical care as a form of dharma that yields spiritual merit.
