निराशा निष्प्रयत्नाश्च सम लोष्टाश्मकांचनाः । येनकेनचिदाच्छन्ना येनकेनचिदाशिताः

nirāśā niṣprayatnāśca sama loṣṭāśmakāṃcanāḥ | yenakenacidācchannā yenakenacidāśitāḥ

അവർ നിരാശരായി, വ്യഗ്രശ്രമമില്ലാത്തവരായി; മണ്ണുകട്ട, കല്ല്, സ്വർണം എന്നിവയെ ഒരുപോലെ കാണുന്നു. കൈവന്നതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ മൂടിക്കൊണ്ട്, ലഭിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ആഹാരം കഴിച്ച്, സംതൃപ്തമായ വൈരാഗ്യത്തിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നു.
