सरथं मार्गणैर्भित्वा विष्णुमारोधयज्जवम् । रथस्य संमुखे दैत्य उवाच विष्णुमव्ययम्
sarathaṃ mārgaṇairbhitvā viṣṇumārodhayajjavam | rathasya saṃmukhe daitya uvāca viṣṇumavyayam
അമ്പുകളാൽ രഥം തുളച്ച് ആ ദൈത്യൻ വിഷ്ണുവിന്റെ വേഗം തടഞ്ഞു; പിന്നെ രഥത്തിന്റെ മുന്നിൽ നിന്നുകൊണ്ട് അവ്യയനായ വിഷ്ണുവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു।

A daitya pierces the chariot with arrows and momentarily checks Viṣṇu’s swift movement, then directly addresses Him from the front of the chariot.
“Avyaya” means imperishable or undecaying, emphasizing Viṣṇu’s unchanging, indestructible divine nature even amid conflict.
Worldly force may obstruct outward motion, but the verse underlines that the divine (the “imperishable”) remains unaffected in essence—encouraging steadiness of faith amid opposition.
