The Glory of the Devoted Wife (Pativratā) and the Māṇḍavya Curse: Sunrise Halted and Restored

teṣāṃ śriyā vimānānāṃ munīnāṃ kiraṇaistathā | śatasūryamivābhāti nānyatra ca gṛhodare

FAQs

It highlights overwhelming tejas (spiritual brilliance): the combined radiance of the sages and their vimānas is portrayed as so intense that it resembles the light of a hundred suns.

Munis are accomplished sages/ṛṣis; their kiraṇa (rays) symbolizes spiritual power and purity made visible as luminous presence.

It suggests that true spiritual attainment carries an unmistakable “radiance”—inner realization is reflected outwardly as clarity, dignity, and sanctifying presence.
