Concept: Hari is the supreme ruler and ultimate refuge—both the highest abode and the ground of all abodes; surrender to Him is the path to final shelter.

Application: Practice daily praṇāma with a conscious inner act of refuge—mentally placing anxieties and plans at Hari’s feet; cultivate ‘He is my dhāma’ during uncertainty.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

FAQs

It presents Hari as transcendent even beyond all exalted states or heavens—supreme over every hierarchy of existence, not merely a high deity within the cosmos but the ultimate reality ruling it.

The verse is structured as a stuti (hymn of praise) beginning with personal surrender—“I bow”—highlighting devotion, reverence, and taking God as the final refuge (paramaṁ dhāma).

Humility and surrender: recognizing a single supreme controller and seeking refuge in that highest principle encourages steadiness, reverence, and detachment from lesser, changing supports.
