Description of Cyavana’s Austerity and Enjoyment

च्यवनोऽप्योमिति प्राह भागदाने वरौजसोः । तदा हृष्टावश्विनौ तमूचतुस्तपतां वरम्

cyavano'pyomiti prāha bhāgadāne varaujasoḥ | tadā hṛṣṭāvaśvinau tamūcatustapatāṃ varam

ഭാഗവിഭജനം നടക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹാബലനുവേണ്ടി ച്യവനനും ‘ഓം’ എന്നു ഉച്ചരിച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ ഹർഷിച്ച അശ്വിനീദേവന്മാർ അവനോട്— ‘തപസ്വികളിൽ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനേ, ഒരു വരം തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുക’ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു।
