Protection of Brāhmaṇas
tadā balena neṣyāmo rājājñākāriṇo vayam | dūtānāṃ vacanaṃ śrutvā brāhmaṇau śokavihvalau
The king’s messengers (dūtāḥ)

Sandhi Resolution Notes:
Royal messengers declare they will forcibly take someone away because they are bound to the king’s command; the two brāhmaṇas, hearing this threat, become grief-stricken.
It foregrounds the clash between coercive state power (“by force”) and the vulnerability of religious figures (brāhmaṇas), raising the dharmic question of whether obedience to authority justifies harmful action.
The speakers are the dūtāḥ (messengers) acting under royal orders; the affected parties are the two brāhmaṇas, described as overwhelmed by sorrow.
