The Greatness of Haridvāra
Gaṅgādvāra-māhātmya

ataḥ pūrvadiśi kṣetraṃ trigagaṃ nāma viśrutam | yatra tripathagā sākṣādṛśyate sakalairjanaiḥ || 22 ||

Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta (wonder)
Secondary Rasa: shanta (peace)
It identifies an eastern holy kṣetra called Trigaga where Gaṅgā, praised as Tripathagā, is said to be directly manifest—highlighting the Purāṇic idea that certain tīrthas grant immediate sacred presence (sākṣāt-darśana) and purifying merit.
By emphasizing direct darśana of the divine river at a tīrtha, the verse supports bhakti through sacred encounter—pilgrimage, reverent viewing, and remembrance (smaraṇa) of Gaṅgā as a living manifestation that naturally turns the mind toward devotion and purity.
Primarily Nirukta-style meaning and traditional epithet usage: “Tripathagā” is a technical Purāṇic/Vedic designation explaining Gaṅgā’s threefold course; the verse also reflects tīrtha-yātrā practice (kalpa/ācāra-oriented application), though no specific ritual rule is stated in this line.
