This verse functions as a sacred-geographical marker: it preserves the traditional placement of a specific Śiva shrine (Kṛttivāseśvara) relative to nearby liṅgas, guiding tirtha-yātrā and reinforcing the mahatmya that holy places are approached with memory, orientation, and reverence.
Bhakti here is expressed through pilgrimage and darśana: the devotee follows the received tradition (smṛtaḥ) to locate and worship named forms of Īśvara, turning travel and temple-visitation into disciplined remembrance and devotion.
It highlights practical orientation and ritual logistics—using directional terms (east/south/north) to structure a pilgrimage sequence; this aligns with applied ritual planning (kalpa-style practicality) even though no explicit grammar/astrology teaching is stated in the verse.
