संध्यावली प्राह नृपं किमाहूता करोम्यहम् । तव वाक्ये स्थिता कांत दुःसापत्न्यविवर्जिता ॥ ९ ॥
saṃdhyāvalī prāha nṛpaṃ kimāhūtā karomyaham | tava vākye sthitā kāṃta duḥsāpatnyavivarjitā || 9 ||
സന്ധ്യാവലി രാജാവിനോട് പറഞ്ഞു—“എന്നെ വിളിച്ചാൽ ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്യണം? ഹേ കാന്താ! നിന്റെ വാക്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിലകൊള്ളുന്നു; സഹപത്നി-വൈരത്തിന്റെ ദുഃഖം എനിക്കില്ല।”
