Mohinī’s Speech

Mohinyāḥ Bhāṣaṇam

etajjaṭharasaṃsargi bhavatyutsaṃgaśaṃkitaḥ | asyāścaivāparāṇāṃ ca viśeṣo yadi me na cet || 32 ||

FAQs

It highlights saṃśaya (doubt) and the need for viśeṣa-jñāna (clear discernment): without recognizing what truly differentiates a person or situation, one’s actions (like acceptance or rejection) become ethically unstable.

Indirectly, it shows that devotion and dharma require inner clarity (viveka). Bhakti is strengthened when the mind resolves confusion and sees the true basis of worth—virtue, intention, and alignment with dharma—rather than mere proximity or circumstance.

Vyākaraṇa/semantic precision is implied in the careful use of terms like viśeṣa (distinction) and saṃsarga (association), underscoring that correct understanding of meaning guides correct judgment in dharmic decisions.
