Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada on technical sādhana/ritual attainments)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: adbhuta
Secondary Rasa: bhayanaka
It highlights a results-oriented, time-bound model of sādhana where specific materials and locations are said to yield manifest outcomes, illustrating the Purana’s technical-ritual strand (prayoga) alongside broader dharma.
This verse is not primarily bhakti-oriented; it belongs to technical ritual instruction. Indirectly, it contrasts worldly/occult attainments (siddhi) with the higher aim of devotion and liberation emphasized elsewhere in the Narada Purana.
It reflects prayoga-style ritual procedure—use of prescribed substances (ketakī flowers), a prescribed timeframe (one month), and a prescribed site (seashore), aligning with applied ritual knowledge connected to Kalpa (ritual science) and traditional timing/place considerations.
