Sanatkumara (teaching Narada the procedural discipline of japa and homa)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It links inner discipline (meditation and sense-restraint) with outer ritual completion: japa is sealed by a proportional homa (one-tenth), showing that mantra-practice is perfected through both concentration and sacrificial offering.
Devotion here is expressed as reverent, methodical worship—remembering (dhyāna), repeating the sacred hymn (japa), and offering (homa). The controlled senses indicate bhakti guided by niyama (disciplined observance), not mere emotion.
It highlights ritual-vidhi and prayoga: the daśāṃśa rule (offering one-tenth of the japa count) and the specific havis composition (rice grains mixed with milk, curd, and ghee), reflecting technical yajña procedure taught in Vedanga-aligned practice.
