Narada (teaching ritual protocol for śravaṇa of Purāṇa–Itihāsa, addressed within the Narada–Sanatkumara dialogue frame)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: bhakti
It teaches that sacred hearing (śravaṇa) begins with bodily and verbal purity—ācamana and mouth-cleansing—followed by a calm, attentive pause, making the mind fit to receive Purāṇa–Itihāsa wisdom.
By emphasizing attentive listening to Purāṇas and Itihāsas—primary vehicles for bhakti-kathā—done with reverence and in the company of one’s own community, strengthening devotion through shared śravaṇa and satsanga.
Ritual discipline and correct preparatory conduct: ācamana (purificatory sipping) and speech-organ cleanliness before recitation/hearing, aligning practice with śrauta–smārta standards that support accurate chanting and respectful study.
