तिथयस्तुप्रशस्तास्युर्मध्यमा प्रतिपत्सिता । षष्ठ्यां तैलं तथाष्टम्यां मासं क्षौरं कलेस्तिथौ ॥ १४० ॥

Transliteration

tithayastupraśastāsyurmadhyamā pratipatsitā | ṣaṣṭhyāṃ tailaṃ tathāṣṭamyāṃ māsaṃ kṣauraṃ kalestithau || 140 ||

Translation

തിഥികളിൽ മധ്യത്തിലുള്ള തിഥികൾ പ്രശസ്തമെന്ന് കരുതുന്നു; പ്രതിപത്തും അംഗീകരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. ഷഷ്ഠിയിൽ തൈലം പുരട്ടുക, അഷ്ടമിയിൽ മാസവ്രതം അനുഷ്ഠിക്കുക, കാല-തിഥിയിൽ ക്ഷൗരകർമ്മം (മുണ്ഡനം) ചെയ്യുക എന്നു പറയുന്നു.
