त्याज्याः स्युस्तासु तिथिषु क्रमात्पंच च सर्वदा । अमावास्या च नवमी हित्वा विषमसज्ञिका ॥ १३९ ॥
tyājyāḥ syustāsu tithiṣu kramātpaṃca ca sarvadā | amāvāsyā ca navamī hitvā viṣamasajñikā || 139 ||
ആ തിഥികളിൽ ക്രമമായി അഞ്ചു തിഥികൾ എല്ലായ്പ്പോഴും ഒഴിവാക്കേണ്ടവയായി പറയുന്നു. അമാവാസിയും നവമിയും ഒഴിച്ചാൽ ശേഷിക്കുന്നവ ‘വിഷമ’ (അശുഭ) തിഥികൾ എന്ന പേരിൽ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
