ആദ്യം ജൈമിനി മുൻപ് പ്രസ്താവിച്ചതുപോലെ മുനി മാർക്കണ്ഡേയന്റെ ചോദ്യം വിവരിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; തുടർന്ന് പക്ഷികളുടെ ധർമ്മബോധം ഉപദേശിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു; പിന്നെ അവരുടെ ജന്മം (ഉത്ഭവം) നിരൂപിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.
