Sanatkumara (in instruction to Narada)
Vrata: Nīrājana-śānti (uttamā śānti)
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
It presents Nīrājana as an ‘uttamā śānti’—a high-grade pacificatory rite whose dhārmic performance restores harmony in a community, leading to the decline of collective afflictions such as disease.
Though framed as a śānti-ritual result, it assumes reverent, faith-filled performance (śraddhā and auspicious intention) for the welfare of all—an applied form of bhakti expressed as service and prayer for societal well-being.
It highlights Kalpa (ritual procedure) within the Vedāṅgas—specifically śānti-prayoga (pacification rites) conducted for public protection and the mitigation of disease.
